The Latest Craze in Hair Styling!

If you spend any time on social media, you have probably already seen this type of product before. It is all the craze right now! But do these straightening hair brushes really work??? Well, I recently tested and reviewed one, so I can personally give you the 411 on this hot new item on the market!

My hair is naturally curly (thanks, dad), but I much rather wear it straight. I don't know why, but I just feel so much prettier with it straightened. So, this means I am usually using my flat iron almost everyday. It can be a pain in the butt. I often have to deal with frizz too, which honestly I dislike that worse than the curls itself. I'll try anything that will make my life easier when it comes to dealing with my hair!

The product I tried was the Efloral Brush Hair Straightener. It can heat up to 446 degrees F. This is great for my thick curly hair! If your hair is thinner or more delicate, you can use a lower temperature. I noticed it did not take very long for it to heat up, and there is a digital reading so you know the exact temperature of the device at any given time. It comes in a pretty pink color, for those of you that like pink (like me!).

First of all, I'll tell you that this worked best for me after blow drying my hair so that it was all the way dry. I tried it while my hair was only semi-dry, and I found the results were way better starting with totally dry hair. (Note: directions actually tells you not to use it on wet hair) The Efloral Brush Straightener went through my hair with ease, and it did not pull at all. It straightened my hair very well. It felt really nice using it too, sort of giving your scalp a massage as it goes through. It seems nearly impossible to burn yourself while using this, unlike flat irons. The only one time I even felt much heat at all was on the very back of my head, as I brushed my long hair down past the nape of my neck. It worked pretty well on the frizz issues I tend to have, too. I will say though, I can get slightly less frizz when I use my flat iron. I think because I am literally ironing my hair flat, and it reduces like nearly 100% of frizz from doing that. I was still happy with the results though. And if frizz is not a huge problem for you, then you will really love it! It took about the same time as using my flat iron, an average of 10 minutes for me...but, using this is less work. You're just brushing your hair, not taking a section at a time, and holding the flat iron in place as you run it from root to tip. So, it feels like the lazy way to straighten your hair, lol. And let's face it, sometimes early in the morning, taking the easy way is going to be a plus.

Overall, I would say this product is a success! I really enjoyed using it and I felt I got good results! I think it would work well for most hair types, too. It is definitely a good tool to have on hand.

  1. Interesting! I don't have really curly hair, but more wavy hair. I hate the wave when I want straight and flat irons scare the hey out of me! This would be something neat to try on my hair!

  2. Nice! I've never seen a straightening brush before. I get so impatient doing just a small section with my iron, so this would be perfect. Thanks for the great review.
