How to Throw a Super Bowl Party

Happy first day of 2016, everyone! It's hard to believe that it is getting close to Super Bowl time already! Now, I am not the world's biggest football fan, however, an excuse to throw a fun party?...I'm in! So, in order to throw a good Super Bowl party, you should do a few simple things that will make it an awesome time for your guests!

The first thing to think about is what food and beverages you want to serve. I like to do a lot of finger foods, snacks, and of course, beer. I always make sure to have some bottles of water too, in case someone doesn't wish to drink an alcoholic drink. Soda might be a good option for many of you, however we don't believe in soda in my house lol, so water it is! When providing beer for guests, I like to have a few different kinds, too. Some people are very particular about which beer they will drink. If you know your friends well enough, try to get their preferred brand(s). For food, my favorite things to prepare are Buffalo Wing Dip, Calzone's, a cheese and cracker platter, and a veggie platter. The next thing you are going to want to think about is decorating. Decorating for a party is always my favorite part. For a super bowl party, decorating is pretty simple. I found a football field table cloth, some football napkins and plates, all at my favorite local grocery store! (Let's hear it for Wegman's! ...and if you don't have one in your area, I am sorry!) These few simple touches really set the mood for a fun and exciting game! And don't forget to get creative! If you need some help with ideas, Pinterest has a bazillion! If you notice in my pictures below, I took little brown paper bags and cut and glued some white strips of paper onto the bags, creating a "football". I then popped some popcorn and filled the brown paper bags so each guest could take one. So easy, but a cute personal touch, don't ya think?

Now, as far as those yummy and cute football cupcakes you see, I can't take credit for those. Almost everyone loves something sweet....this is why everyone likes me so much! (haha!) Anyway, back to reality...having some sort of sweet item to offer your guests is always a good idea. Around the Super Bowl, stores usually have a good variety of premade cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. I chose these because of the cute little plastic football rings on each cupcake. This doubled as a little party favor, too! Perfect!

All that is left is inviting your friends over and you are ready for some football! Is your team going to the Super Bowl??? Mine surely isn't, but I will still be watching the game and looking out for some awesome commercials! Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday everyone!

  18. We have quite a few parties during the year but the Superbowl party is by far our favorite. It is also the weekend we celebrate my daughter's birthday (she was born at halftime during the superbowl in 2005)...
