HQB's Fashion Friday !

Ya know how there are certain fashion trends that pop up every so often, that you can't help but say, "really?" Well, for today's edition of HQB's Fashion Friday, I am going to talk about a few things that I just don't get and don't like! Sorry if I name something you think is cool! Feel free to comment at the end of the post if you want to fight for your fashion trend, and explain what and why you like it!

Ok, so how about those pointy nails? The actual name for them are Stiletto Nails. Stiletto shoes are super hot! But this type of manicure, not hot at all. This actually sorta creeps me out. Like how would you put your contacts in? Ouch. I don't find this beautiful at all. I hope this fashion trend ends really quickly, but either way, you'll never seen those pointy things on MY hands! ewww.

Now unless you are a grandma, I do not understand why you would want a Vera Bradley purse! Thankfully, I think this trend is slowly coming to an end, but for a while there, everyone seemed to have these ugly purses! WHY? Seriously, all I can think when I see them is that it is a total granny hand bag! I LOVE purses, and oh em gee, do I have many! But not a single Vera Bradley! Nope, Never. Oh yeah, and by the way, my grandma actually does have one! And for her, it's perfect. Every grandmother should have one! But seriously, leave it for the grannies, ok?!?

Now, here is one regarding the fellas! Ok, a little facial hair is cool. On many guys it can be sexy. But what the heck is up with this super big grizzly beards that seem to be "in" right now? oh no no. Please don't. I know some ladies might disagree with me, because I see that a lot of gals actually dig their men all super hairy like they've been living in a cave. But me? Nope, sorry. Not diggin' it. Can someone, anyone, explain the appeal in this? Am I alone in thinking that this is nasty???

Are there any fashion trends that you just can't stand?

Feel free to share!

Thanks for stopping by for Fashion Friday and have a fabulous weekend everyone!

  1. Hehehehe I had to click on your post when I saw pointy nails!!!!! I'm
Obsessed with them!!!!! How can you hate them lol.... Lucky for you no salon in Jamestown will do them. The closest a salon will do is what I had for my wedding nails & they weren't even pointy at all -_- but I agree on the Vera bags... Like ewwwww..... So many people around here like them.... Like why?!?! And no to the man beard.... I told Matt along time ago he can never ever do that... So unclean and just disgusting to me!!

    1. I believe that there is 1 that does do them. I'll have to ask my girlfriend's where they get theirs done. But I agree, I don't like those nails either. Ouch!

  3. could never wear those pointy nails but they do look nice, there are a few things through the years I do not like pants sagging was one of the biggest

    1. oh yeah, I totally agree with you on the saggy pants. Do you know where that started from? I read somewhere that it started in prisons...that was a "sign" that an inmate was "available". So, makes me wonder if these fellas realize that, and think it's cool or what. Any fashion trend that gets its start in prison is probably not a great idea, lol

  4. I could never do pointy nails, too impractical! I do loooove my Vera Bradley though. The patterns are a little busy but they are so easy to carry, comfortable, and have so much room in them, I dunno they're great! And they have Disney patterns now so I'm sold ;)

    1. haha ok well everyone has their own likes/dislikes...I guess I will agree to disagree on the Vera Bradley's. But my grandma has told me that exact thing, that she can fit a lot into it. I am a purse fanatic but I just can't get into them.

    1. yeah being a contact wearer I just can't even consider them. but even that aside, I can't imagine doing other things either...typing on my laptop and stuff.

  6. Hahahaha... I hate the stiletto nails too!! As for Vera Bradley, I used to HATE it!! But then I kind of jumped on the bandwagon and found a few prints I thought were really pretty. I'm over it now though! :)

  7. I'm not a fan of long nails in general, but pointy ones are a definite NO. I really think the nails that are heavily decorated like the picture is kind of trashy. I just.. I don't get it. I have my Jamberry but it's never to that degree. I can't take anyone seriously when I hear the click clack of their nails.

  8. Those are all awful. I can't stand those beards! Total hipster thing right now. And, yes, those nails look painful. I think I'd seriously injure my kids (and myself) with them. Ouch!

    1. exactly. glad others feel the same way as me ;)

  9. Yup, I'm in 100% agreement with you. The nails are HIDEOUS on everyone, even the fashionistas and socialites. Vera Bradly is perfect for grandmas but for women under 60? No way. I'd add that Lily Pulitzer is right up there with her - it's perfect for a little girl, but if you're over the age of 10, I do NOT understand why you'd wear such loud and childish prints. And I live in the deep South. And was a sorority girl. And still hate Lily. Finally, yes, a manscaping is totally necessary, for all forms of facial hair, always!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Paige! I am not familiar with Lily Pulitzer...now I gotta go look that up. I'm not around any young girls so I am totally unaware lol

    2. ok, so now I know.....umm yeah, I totally agree with you on that 100%

  10. So Stiletto nails I actually tried. I think they are ugly but I ended up absolutely loving them once on. Contacts were way easier than with squaoval nails and I could actually pick stuff up!! Glad Vera is on her way out! Crazy beards are gross... give me a nice short groomed goatee and I'm good.

    1. same here, I am fine with a guy having a little facial hair. I actually think being scruffy is sexy. But these guys have taken things way too far lol

  11. Right there with you—though the top of my list is the Amish look for non-Amish men LOL I call it the Tailban look! :)

  12. My husband is currently growing out his facial hair and really wants a big bushy beard. Ugh. I'm so not a fan. But, since he never tells me that I can't dye my hair various amounts of colors, I don't want to be a hypocrite and tell him he can't grow out his beard.

    1. Yeah I guess you have a point there....that's actually really nice of you to think of it that way. I know a lot of woman who wouldn't be so considerate. Looks like your husband is a lucky man ;)

  13. I totally agree with all of these. Yuck! Pointy nails, old lady purses, and gross facial hair. None for me, thanks :)
